Abstract

Assessment and rating of Ayurveda colleges across India by QCI is a welcome step as it helps to recognize the academic activities of colleges, which further motivates the staff and management to do their best effort make their college top class. For students it becomes easier to choose best colleges. But there are some problems faced by both students and staff. Most of the Post graduation institutes make their PG scholars prepare the documents leaving their OPD and other essential academic activities aside. This will lead to a main under skilled or lack of skill among the future generation Vaidyas. Most PG institute's students feel like clerical workers because not able to focus on OPD, IPD or clinical classes. Ayurveda teachers having the same problem, because of marathon documentation work, they are not able give their best for treating the patients, teaching of students and publishing research articles etc. academic activities. The solution for this is, QCI must make documentation simpler, easy to handle, less time taking to upload the documents. Another very important thing, they must make rule, all the events should be submitted within 3 days. Third solution- NCISM should make gazette amendment-MSE regarding appointments of 2-3 clerks exclusively for QCI work. This will lessen the burden on students and teachers.
