Editorial policy

JAHM adheres to the highest standards of biomedical publishing ethics. The journal follows the guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and the Council of Science Editors (CSE).

Key principles:

  • Editorial independence is maintained at all stages.

  • Manuscripts are accepted or rejected solely on the basis of their scientific quality, relevance, and originality.

  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.

  • Ethical approval and informed consent are mandatory for clinical studies.

  • Any form of scientific misconduct (plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, image manipulation) will lead to rejection/retraction

  • During the initial editorial review, if the article does not fit the scope of the journal and the methods followed are wrong, then it will be rejected.

  • Manuscripts not compliant will be returned before review.

    Reporting Guidelines Compliance

    Authors must follow internationally accepted guidelines:

    • CONSORT – Clinical trials

    • SPIRIT – Trial protocols

    • PRISMA – Systematic reviews

    • CARE – Case reports

    • STROBE – Observational studies

    • TREND – Non-randomized interventions

    • ARRIVE – Animal studies

Roles of Editors 

  • The Editor-in-Chief and Executive Editor oversees the editorial process, ensuring timely and fair reviews and the integrity of the journal.
  • Managing Editors takes care of copy editing, Proof reading, subscriptions.  
  • Senior Editors and Associate Editors manage submissions in their respective areas of expertise.
  • Asst. Editors does the marketing job, pramotion, advertisement etc. 
  • The Advisory Board consists of leading experts who contribute to shaping the journal’s strategic direction and policy development.
