Waiver Policy (effective: 13-10-2025)
We aim to remove cost barriers for authors with limited funding.
1) Automatic 50% waiver (equity policy)
Who qualifies: Corresponding authors affiliated with institutions in:
- World Bank–classified Low-Income Economies: https://data.worldbank.org/country/low-income
What’s covered: 50% off both the ASC and APC.
How it works: Indicate eligibility at submission and upload proof of affiliation (e.g., employment letter or institutional email domain). Eligibility is verified at acceptance.
2) Full or additional waivers (case-by-case)
Authors who do not meet the automatic criteria but lack funding may request a additional waiver.
How to apply: Email editor@jahm.co.in or use the submission form’s waiver request field before acceptance, with:
- Manuscript ID and title
- Brief funding statement (including grant # if applicable)
- Institution and country of the corresponding author
- Any supporting documentation (e.g., funder policy prohibiting APCs)
Decision time: Within 10 business days of request (usually earlier).
Confidentiality: Financial information is handled confidentially.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are entirely independent of ability to pay. Waiver status does not influence peer review or acceptance.
When and how to pay
- Invoices are issued after acceptance to the corresponding author.
- Payment methods: bank transfer.
- Payment is due within 30 days of invoice date.
Funding & institutional support
We encourage authors to check institutional OA funds and funder policies. If your funder mandates open access but does not cover APCs, you may still apply for a waiver.
Policy scope & updates
This policy applies to all article types in the journal. Fees and waiver criteria may be updated periodically; changes apply prospectively and are posted on this page with the effective date.
